hi there, i’m michelle tran

and here’s a bit about me.

I am currently an architecture student and graphic designer.

I come from a Chinese-Vietnamese background, with family in DC, Seattle, and San Francisco.

Currently, I'm studying at the University of California Berkeley, starting my M.Arch after graduating from the Unvisity of Virginia School of Architecture in 2023 with a B.S. Arch, a minor in architecural history, and a minor in technology and environment with a concentration in Management and Economics.

At UVA School of Architecture, I  honed a comprehensive skill set in industry-standard drafting software (AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit), energy modeling, and data visualization while also being a teaching assistant and a student mentor.  Outside of Campbell Hall, I engaged with energy engineers on university building and healthcare retrofits while also being a graphic designer, working for various university groups and freelancing. Now, at UC Berkeley, I’m furthering my skillset while studying for my LEED AP and partaking in student leadership.

My current interests and goals lie in management and building performance: to establish pathways of climate accountability within architectural practices and our buildings, both design and operations.  The combination of these goals is meant to support one of my strongst beliefs: We do not have a "Planet B."

As I move forward with my education and professional experience, I hope to gain licensure and progress buildings towards a net-beneficial relationship between the built environment and the natural world.

To a functional Planet A.
